Physanka | the Ukrainian Art of Painting Eggs
With the art course, “Pysanka” Luliana wants to bring an element of the Ukrainian culture to Switzerland and teach an unknown painting technique while helping people relax.
The word “Pysanka” means “a Ukrainian Easter egg” and comes from the verb “pysaty”, which means “to write” in English. No words but elaborate patterns tell the story of the everyday life of Ukrainian ancestors. The hot beeswax used to paint the eggs spread a nice smell that triggers positive feelings and helps to calm down.
